Quick Craft Ideas for Halloween

Quick idea for a fun craft.

First you will need a small pumpkin and they can be bought at any grocery store or for fun go to a pumpkin patch. We will get to those in a few. But first back to the fun family craft. All kids love to decorate a pumpkin but do not want to carve it, just draw all over it. Well here is a great one.

Take the small pumpkin and let them cover it with their favorite stickers, they even make glow in the dark ones, and sit them out side about a day or 2 before Halloween.

After Halloween bring the pumpkin in and pull off all the stickers. The next craft will require some additional items. Felt, brown for turkey feet, red for the beaks and some tongue depressors for the tail feathers.

You will need between 5 t0 7 large tongue depressors depending on the size of the pumpkin.

A glue gun and some permanent colored markers. First you will want to cut out the turkey feet and hot glue them to the bottom.

Than take the red felt and cut 2 triangles for the beaks make sure to cut them long enough to glue the flat part to the pumpkin, you can always cut more away if it is to big.

After that color on eyes or if you have some google eyes, the ones that wiggle you can glue those on. Here comes the fun part. Turn the pumpkin around and with the help from an adult cut slits on the back of the pumpkin long enough to slide the tongue depressors in. You can either buy colored ones or tan ones and color them. Insert each one and add a little bit of hot glue to ensure a good snug fit. Now you have a Thanksgiving center piece.

But where to get the pumpkins. If you are in a time crunch, Hy-Vee or Wal-Mart have them, but if you have time, go and visit ...
