Missouri's Trout - Brown and Rainbow trout can be found almost year round in KC, the wonderful thing about living in the city or even up north of the Missouri River up by the Kansas City Airport the people at like home owners in.

Weatherby Lake, Mo is located, south of Kansas City International Airport (MCI), near to  I-29 and Barry Road.

Riss Lake normally get stocked every October after Halloween but for anyone of us who do not live in these locations its private property only the community is allowed to fish. However we have a few places just outside the Kansas City Metro its a small drive out towards Bennett Springs.

Bennett Spring State Park - Missouri State Parks and Historic Sites

The Missouri Department of Conservation operates a trout hatchery in the park and stocks the spring branch daily during the regular fishing season(March 1 - Oct. 31).

During the "no creel" season, anglers can fish on a catch-and-release basis.  The season runs Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays from the second Friday in November to the second Sunday in February.

Plastic Worms

Purchase Lip RipperZ Products

Lip RipperZ Plastic Baits can also help, this little plastic worms are great for many reasons. First you save money if you fish a ton, you don't have to redo your bait every few casts as well you can change a color within seconds your bait to check the color choice of the fish that day. One day it may be the orange/silver working for you and the other day it could be the Glow in the dark small plastic worms.

These worms are great to use with a crappie bobber because it makes it very easy to detect a fish bite. The bobber will first be taken down in the water for a second and then bam you set the hook it seems to be the 2nd bite that normally gets a good hook set.
